What We Believe & Why

  • Key Doctrines

At Cambridge Christian Fellowship, we embrace the foundational doctrines of the Assemblies of God, a movement rooted in biblical truth and committed to reaching the lost, building believers, and strengthening the Church. Assemblies of God has identified 16 key doctrines as its Statement of Fundamental Truths.

  • The Core Four

Among these 16 doctrines, four core beliefs stand out as central to our faith and mission:

    1. Salvation through Jesus Christ,

    2. Baptism

    3. Divine Healing

    4. The Second Coming of Christ.

  • Our Perspective

On this page, you’ll find these core beliefs, along with the guiding principles that most directly shape our church community and ministry. Together, these truths reflect our heart to love God and serve others faithfully.

Salvation & Baptism

Salvation: Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

Baptism: The ordinance of baptism by immersion is commanded by the Scriptures. All who repent and believe on Christ as Saviour and Lord are to be baptized. Thus they declare to the world that they have died with Christ and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.

All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, the baptism in the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.

Divine Healing & Jesus’ Return

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.

The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years.

Guiding Principles

This page is not an exhaustive presentation of CCF’s beliefs but these are some of the beliefs which you will find most present at our church:

We believe that the Bible, encompassing both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It reveals God’s heart and will for humanity, serving as our ultimate guide for faith and practice. Through Scripture, we come to know God’s character, His promises, and His plan for salvation, equipping us to live lives that honor Him.

Prayer is the foundation of all we do as a church and as followers of Christ. It is our direct connection with God—a way to seek His guidance, express our gratitude, and intercede for others. We believe that prayer brings us into alignment with God’s will, strengthens our faith, and moves the hand of God in miraculous ways. It is not just a practice, but a way of life that transforms hearts, homes, and communities.

At the heart of our faith is the cross of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus, the Son of God, was crucified for our sins, willingly offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice to reconcile us to God. His death provides forgiveness and His resurrection assures us of eternal life. The cross is our reminder of God’s unending love and grace, and through it, we have hope, redemption, and the promise of eternity with Him.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
